Twibbles User Guide

Welcome to the enchanting world of Twibbles. This guide is meant to give you a basic understanding of the various features of the Twibbles, as well as basic instructions on how to use the most common items. The features will be constantly evolving.

Getting Started

If you're new to breedables, don't sweat. The process is pretty straight forward. For this guide we'll assume you've purchased a starter pack. The first thing you'll do is rez a "Twibble Homing Device" from your inventory. This is a metallic mushroom shaped device. It is important for your Twibbles to be able to function. Without the homing object the Twibbles can't move, eat or breed. Right click on your home and click "Edit". Look under the description on the general tab. You'll notice the number 2 by default. This number is the maximum distance your Twibbles are allowed from their homing device. Set this distance to whatever you wish. Now you'll want to rez a Twibble Pod from your inventory somewhere close to the Twibble Homing Device. Once the Pod is rezzed... click it. You should see a menu drop-down that asks if you'd like to unbox this Pod. Click "Yes". The Pod should display red text that says "rezzing..". Once the Pod has finished rezzing, click it. You'll see a new menu consisting of "Generate", "Box" and "Nothing". Click the "Generate" and your Pod will begin to generate a new Twibble. Give the new Twibble time to set its colors and size. Initially the Twibbles are fairly small when they're first generated. Over the course of the next 7 days, they will slowly grow to full size. Once the Twibble is generated.. it will automatically set itsself to the home you've rezzed it near. The next thing is to click the Twibble. You'll notice white text popup above the Twibble. This text will show you the gender of the Twibble, the age, it's generation and hunger amount. Gender is random. The text will also show you the type of Special as well as the Shine and Glow amounts. Depending on your region's time, your Twibbles may immediately go to sleep (display zzzZZ particles) as soon as you set them to a Home. Last... be sure to place a food bowl near the home. If the food bowl is too far away... the Twibbles will not be able to reach it and they'll starve. Congratulations! Your twibbles are now ready to eat and breed.

Feeding

There are 2 types of food the Twibbles can eat. There are the regular food bowls. Then there are the glow food which when eaten, will add the glow gene to your Twibbles. The Twibbles must eat 10 servings of glow food to gain 0.05% glow gene. For every 200 servings of glow food... the glow gene will increase by 10%. So for your Twibbles to have offspring with 10% glow... your Twibbles need to eat at least 200 servings of glow food. The Twibbles will eat 1 serving every 4 hours, but that time will decrease to every 1 hour if the Twibbles are starving. Food bowls of both types come in quantities of 260, 1200 and 2400 servings.

Breeding

Your Twibbles must be at least 7 days old before they're mature enough to mate. Males will look for available females every 3 hours. After a male and female mate... the female will be in the pregnant state for 12 hours before she lays the pod. After the female lays her pod... she will go into a recovery period for 6 hours before she is available to mate again.

Boxing / Updating

Make sure you obtain a pack of Twibble Boxes and Pod Pillows from the Twibbles Shop. The Twibble Box and the Pod Pillow. The Twibble Box is for boxing live Twibbles. The Pod Pillow is for boxing unhatched Twibble Pods. Twibbles and Twibble Pods MUST be boxed before they are sold or transfered to another person. WARNING: If you sell a Twibble without boxing it... it will die in the next person's inventory. To box... simply rez a Cryo-Pod or Pod Pillow... then click on the Twibble or Twibble Pod that you want to box. Click "Box" from the menu. The Twibble / Pod will search for the Cryo-Pod or Pillow and then disappear. You can then click the Cryo-Pod or Pillow to see that your Twibble / Pod has been safely boxed. To update your Twibbles.... obtain an updater from the Twibbles Shop. Rez it on the same region as your Twibbles. Then click the updater. Your Twibbles should now all say "Updating..." above their heads. Give the updater time to recieve data from all Twibbles. Once this is complete... the updater will send updates to all of the Twibbles. This process can take time depending on the amount of Twibbles. It will take 1 second to update each Twibble. So if you have 100 Twibbles... it will take 100 seconds to update them all.

Specials

Specials are rare Twibbles that are released in very limited quantities. Some of these will be released on certain events, some will be available at the Twibbles Shop. Some specials will be randomly birthed on specific days of the year. These specific days will not be directly announced. Special Hints: For hints about upcoming specials... keep an eye out for drawings inside the Twibbles hut on the top of the hill. These drawings will have something to do with the type of upcoming special.
